Description

Gelatin capsules formulated to resist crosslinking reactions—chemical bonds that form between gelatin proteins and reactive compounds (e.g., aldehydes, ketones, terpenes, peroxides) commonly found in certain drug fillers [4†L19-L20]. Produced by blending acid-process and alkali-process gelatins to achieve an optimal isoelectric point (pH 4.7–4.9) and adding excipients such as glycine, citric acid, and polyethylene glycol [4†L11-L12][11†L7-L10].

Stability and Storage Conditions

Excellent stability; resists crosslinking-induced dissolution delays. Extended shelf life under high-temperature, high-humidity storage conditions [4†L6][4†L14].
