Description
Betulin is a pentacyclic lupane-type triterpenoid naturally found in birch bark (Betula alba L.), where it can constitute up to 30% of the bark's dry weight. It is a naturally occurring compound with the molecular formula C₃₀H₅₀O₂ and a molecular weight of 442.72. Betulin is also known as betulinol, betuline, betulinic alcohol, birch alcohol, or birch camphor.
