Description
Cetearyl alcohol is a mixture of solid aliphatic alcohols, mainly composed of stearic acid (C18H38O) and cephalinic acid (C16H34O) alcohols. It is a white granular, flaky or block-like substance. This product is soluble in ethanol but almost insoluble in water. It is derived from the reduction of corresponding fatty acids.
