Description
Decitabine is a cytidine nucleoside analog that incorporates into DNA. Its primary action is the potent and irreversible inhibition of DNA methyltransferase, leading to genome-wide DNA hypomethylation. This epigenetic modulation reactivates silenced tumor suppressor genes and genes involved in differentiation, promoting apoptosis and restoring normal function to abnormal hematopoietic blasts.
