Introduction

Antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral drugs are commonly used clinically. However, with the spread and evolution of drug resistance, the efficacy of these drugs, especially antibacterial and antiviral drugs, is declining. At present, there is no effective means to deal with the problem of drug resistance clinically, and the development of new drugs is urgently needed.

Antibacterial Series

Antibacterial series can be divided into antifungal drugs and antibacterial drugs. Common antibacterial drugs include β-lactams, aminoglycosides, macrolides, quinolones, tetracyclines, and glycopeptides. Drugs for the treatment of systemic fungal infections include amphotericin B, azole derivatives, echinocandins, and flucytosine.

Anti-inflammatory Series

Anti-inflammatory drugs include steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It exerts antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, inhibiting the aggregation of white blood cells, reducing the formation of bradykinin, and inhibiting the aggregation of platelets.

Antiviral Series

At present, viral diseases with high morbidity and low cure rate such as AIDS and viral hepatitis are still spreading around the world, and respiratory viruses such as influenza virus and coronavirus continue to mutate. The development of safe and effective antiviral drugs has become an important means of dealing with viral diseases. There are many ways to resist viral infection, such as directly inhibiting or killing viruses, interfering with virus adsorption, preventing viruses from penetrating cells, inhibiting virus biosynthesis, inhibiting virus release, or enhancing host anti-virus capabilities.
