Niosomes consist of a bilayer of nonionic surfactants that structurally resemble liposomes with hydrophilic ends exposed outside and inside the vesicles. The vesicles keep the hydrophilic drug within the enclosed space inside the vesicles, while the hydrophobic drug is embedded within the bilayer.
