Solid Microneedles Technology Services for Drug Delivery

Solid microneedles produce micron-sized channels by piercing the tip of the needle into the skin. After removal of the microneedle, a patch coated with drug is applied to the micropore and the drug enters directly into the skin layer through its use of a drug patch, thus increasing penetration. The drug is absorbed by capillaries, showing systemic effects, but of course it can also be used for local effects, with solid microneedles delivering the drug to the surface layer by passive diffusion. The method is relatively simple to operate and does not require the assembly of an external driver.

Solid microneedles provide sufficient mechanical strength by selecting the microneedle material and geometry, and reduce the force required to insert the microneedle into the tissue by increasing the sharpness of the tip. Solid microneedles are made from a variety of materials, including silicon, metals, and non-degradable polymers. Solid microneedles are mainly pyramidal or conical in shape, with microneedle lengths ranging from 150 to 1000 microns.
